Congratulations and welcome to Doane College cheerleading!
The scholarship amount available is $1000 per year or $500 per semester. The scholarship is available to students with a background in cheerleading and is awarded subject to these guidelines at the discretion of your admission counselor.
To maintain your scholarship during your academic career at Doane, you must enroll as a full-time student. YOu may receive the scholarship for a maximum of eight full-time semesters provided you make a good faith effort to earn a position on the cheerleading team each year by participating in annual tryouts. If selected, you are required to participate as an active member of the cheerleading team to the satisfaction of the cheerleading team adviser. Scholarships are reviewed annually, so contact the cheerleading team adviser for specific participation and performance requirements.
Your scholarship, once offered, will not be lost if an injury prevents your participation on the cheerleading team. Cheerleading scholarships are not available for students awarded an athletic sport scholarship, as it is designed for students who would not otherwise participate in the athletic programs at Doane.
Your cheerleading scholarship is included in your total financial aid package as required to comply with institutional policies and federal regulations. Failure to participate or maintain good academic standing as stated in institutional policy may result in the loss of your cheerleading scholarship. The student is responsible to repay the college any amount already credited to his/her account. Doane College is not obligated to replace lost scholarship funds with other types of financial aid.
