Barry Mosley took over the Tiger program in June 2003 with his first season taking place in Spring 2004.
Under Mosley's guidance, the Tiger squad set a school record for wins in 2006 and placed six players on the all-conference list. In 2008, Doane finished one victory shy of the school record and took second place in the GPAC Tournament. During the 2010 season, Mosley surpassed Don Miller as the winningest coach in school history. Mosley has coached softball and baseball at every level. Mosley's most impressive coaching stint came as head coach of Lincoln Pius X high school (2001-2004), where Mosley led the Thunderbolts to three state tournament appearances, one championship and two third place finishes. In 2003, Mosley served as an assistant at Concordia University, handling the infielders and pitchers for the team that set a school-record for wins and qualified for the NAIA Regional tournament. Mosley has also dedicated himself to local community efforts by organizing select baseball and softball teams for youth players. In 1993, he founded the Lincoln Sox baseball program, and in 2001, he formed one of the best select softball programs in Lincoln, the Nebraska Blue Diamonds. Mosley still works as program director for the Blue Diamonds. During his personal time, Coach Mosley gives private instruction to baseball and softball players of all ages. He has been invited to speak at coaching clinics and softball camps and has contributed coaching articles to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association monthly newsletter. In addition to recruiting during the summer and fall months, he frequently travels the nation as an invited coach for Triple Crown Sports, conducting instructional camps, skill development sessions and all-star games. Barry and his wife, Joanne, have three children: Justin, Stephanie and Katie. |
