The Tiger Track & Field team closed out the 2010 athletic season for Doane College on Saturday afternoon in Marion, Indiana, at the NAIA Track & Field Championships. The Tiger men rounded out the meet with 25 points and tied for 11th overall while the women collected 11 points and finished 27th.

Doane closed out the final day of the meet with another strong day, crowning four All-Americans on the day. The Tigers finished with six All-American honors (Top Six finish) and eight Tigers placed in the Top Eight to earn points.

Jared Schuurmans picked up his second All-American honor of the meet, placing third in the shot put after winning the discus on Friday. He finished with a top throw of 17.28m (56-08.50).

Katie Bartels placed third in the high jump, as she was perfect on her first three attempts. Bartels posted a mark of 1.70m (5-07.00).

In the women's 200m, Deejay Silcott placed fourth with a time of 24.304 as she edged out Shantel Leonard of Langston who posted a time of 24.307.

Jens Scholl placed sixth in the 800m run after he ran a time of 1:50.43, a personal best and a second shy of the school record.

Paul Garcia finished eighth in the 3,000m steeplechase. He was one of the last qualifiers in the prelims and moved up to earn points for the Tigers with a time of 3:17.68.

In the men's pole vault, Nate Teten matched his season-best mark of 4.70m (15-05.00) and tied for 11th.

Brian Hubbert placed 14th at the meet in the triple jump as he posted his top jump at 13.99m (45-10.75).

Sarah Hinman placed 21st in the discus with a throw of 40.14m (131-08) while Ashton Henderson finished 24th with a throw of 39.61m (129-11).

Viviana Arreola finished 18th in the women's marathon, running a time of 3:36:24.40.

The men's 4x100m relay team of Ben McCaleb, Vince Martinez, Adam Baxa and Adam Bosley ran a time of 41.68 to place ninth.
