The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2010 all-conference team on Thursday and eight Tiger players were recognized amongst the best in the conference. Doane finished the year with a 30-18 record, posting the most wins in school history. The following were honored by the GPAC. Dexter Spitsnogle, junior from Odell, Nebraska, was named First Team All-GPAC as a pitcher for the Tigers. Spitsnogle ranked in the Top 50 of nine categories in the NAIA this year, including strikeouts per nine innings in which he finished seventh with 11.48 strikeouts per nine innings. He led the team with a 2.48 ERA and held opponents to a .208 batting average while posting a 6-2 record and 74 strikeouts.
Anthony Hincy, a sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was named Second Team at shortstop. Hincy was excellent in the field for the Tigers this year and was honored by the conference coaches as the top defensive shortstop as he was named to the Gold Glove team. Hincy led the Tigers with a .405 batting average, 52 runs and 21 stolen bases.
Tom Frinkman, a senior from Albuquerque, New Mexico, was named Second Team All-GPAC at designated hitter. Frinkman hit .337 on the season with nine extra base hits and 23 RBIs.
Josh Reed, a senior from Edmonds, Washington, was named honorable mention as a second baseman. Reed batted .319 with 10 doubles, three triple and three home runs to go with his 33 RBIs which ranked fourth on the team this year.
Mike Albert, a sophomore from Papillion, Nebraska, was honorable mention in the outfield. Albert batted .354 and led the team with 14 doubles and five home runs.
Blake Snow, a senior from Everett, Washington, earned honorable mention honors in the outfield. Snow was also recognized for his defensive efforts, earning the Gold Glove award for right field. He led the Tigers with 37 RBIs and batted .341 with 10 extra base hits.
Anthony Dunn, a sophomore from Papillion, Nebraska, received honorable mention at catcher. Dunn batted .360 for the Tigers and he threw out 12 of 25 potential stolen base runners.
Ryan Otto, a senior from Everett, Washington, was named honorable mention as a pitcher. Otto led the team with eight wins (8-2) and posted a 4.24 ERA in 11 appearances, 10 starts.
