The Doane men's tennis team won their third straight match, defeating Simpson College, 6-3 on Friday morning in Crete. The win improved the Tigers' overall record to 4-7. Simpson played two players short, giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead to open the match. After sweeping doubles action, Doane adjusted the line-up to allow each team member to participate on the day.
Ross Schulenberg and Josh Siske teamed up for their eighth straight win as they defeated Noah Saunders and Adam Summitt, 8-5. Tony Bieck and Josh Johnson defeated Dan Schneider and Luke Haack, 8-4.
In singles action, Schulenberg lost in a tie-breaker to Saunders, 1-6, 7-6 (7-3), 0-1 (11-13). Siske defeated Summitt at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Aaron Haag played up two spots in the line-up and lost to Schneider, 2-6, 2-6. Tanner Vitko also played up a couple of spots at No. 4 singles and lost to Haack, 1-6, 4-6.
