Doane took a pair of games from Webber International on Monday evening in Babson Park, Fla.  The Tigers won game one, 10-4, and game two, 3-0.

Game One
Doane batted around in the first inning as they scored six runs and Dexter Spitsnogle held the Warriors in check through five innings to pick up his third win of the season.

Josh Reed

Josh Reed collected four
hits in the doubleheader

Mike Albert led off the first inning with a single and promptly stole second base. Following a walk to Luke Henderson, Albert and Colton Cochran moved up on a passed ball. Cochran was running for Henderson. Anthony Hincy then drew a walk to load the bases.

After a pitching change, Blake Snow was hit by a pitch to bring in the first run of the game. Tom Frinkman drew a walk to bring in another run for the Tigers.

Doane picked up their first hit of the game six batters into the line-up when Jason West delivered with a single to bring in Hincy. Josh Reed followed with a single to bring in Snow. Dean Henson then reached on an error that brought in Frinkman.

The Tigers held a 5-0 lead before the first out of the inning was turned and it was a big one for the Warriors as they were able to pick up a double play but West scored to give the Tigers their sixth run of the inning. Albert walked to give Doane runners at the corners but Henderson flew out to end the inning.

Doane wasn't done scoring, however, as they added a run in the second and two more in the third to build an early 9-0 lead. Hincy scored in the second inning on a double from Frinkman. In the Tigers' third inning, Hincy scored on a double from Snow and Snow came around on a double by West.

Spitsnogle gave up three runs in the bottom of the third inning but two of them were unearned due to an error. The Warriors added another unearned run in the fourth to cut the Tiger lead to 9-4.

Doane picked up their final run of the game in the fifth. Hincy reached on an error and came in to score on a second error in the inning.

For the game, Hincy went 2-for-3 with four runs scored. Jason West went 3-for-5 with a run and two RBIs. Frinkman had a run scored and two RBIs while Snow scored twice and also knocked in two runs.

Spitsnogle went five innings, allowing one earned run on six hits while striking out seven. Britton Scheele threw two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.

Game Two
Doane collected 10 hits but could only bring three runs across the plate. It was enough though as the Tigers received a strong pitching performance from Ryan Otto.

Ryan Otto

Ryan Otto improved to 3-0
with a win over Webber

Otto went six strong innings, allowing only two hits and three walks while striking out three to pick up his third win of the season. The Tiger defense stepped up behind Otto, turning a key double play in the fourth inning. With runners at first and second and in the heart of the Warrior line-up, Otto induced the 6-4-3 double play.

He faced a similar fate in the fifth inning, this time with the first two batters reaching. Following a sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position, Otto was able to get a line-out and a ground ball out to escape the inning. He held the Warriors off the base path in the sixth.

Chance Brull came into the game in the seventh inning and put the Warriors down in order to record the save for Doane.

Doane scored all three of their runs in the third inning. With one down, Anthony Dunn walked and was run for by Colton Cochran. Cochran moved up to second base on a failed pick-off attempt and advanced to third on a single by Anthony Hincy.

Cochran scored Doane's first run of the game on a single by Blake Snow as the Tigers went ahead 1-0. Tom Frinkman followed with a single to score Hincy and Reed singled two batters later to score Snow. The Tiger inning ended on a line-out double play.

For the game, Reed led the way with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate while also playing solid defense at second base as he posted a team-high four defensive assists. Hincy, Frinkman and West each posted two hit games with West having 10 defensive putouts.
