The gym at Hastings prior to the game had a bit of a chill to it and unfortunately for the Tigers, so was their shooting percentage on the evening. Doane lost to No. 1 Hastings, 79-40, on Wednesday evening while shooting 21-percent from the floor. The Tigers missed their first 10 shot attempts and were 2-of-6 from the free throw line before making a shot with 10:32 remaining in the first half. By that point, however, the Tigers were trailing 25-2. Doane finished the game with 13 made field goals while committing 26 turnovers. It wasn't that the Tigers didn't have their chances; they did pick up 21 offensive rebounds but only scored seven points on the extra opportunities. Hastings committed 21 turnovers but also had 20 offensive rebounds which led to 24 points. The Broncos shot 49-percent for the game.
Doane was led in scoring by Vanessa Munter's 13 points and she added eight rebounds. Nicole Anderson came off the bench to give the Tigers eight points and five rebounds while Nicole Skolnick posted a team-high 10 rebounds, seven on the offensive end. Kristine Ortmeier had a team-best two assists while Anderson and Munter led the Tigers with two steals apiece.
