Doane Picked Fourth by GPAC Coaches

(GPAC Release) Morningside College, champions of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) regular season in 2009, is the coaches' choice to win the 2010 GPAC softball title.  The Mustangs totaled 139 points and eight First Place votes in the preseason poll.   Morningside posted a 34-21 record last spring.  Midland Lutheran is picked second with 132 points and three First Place votes.  The final two First Place votes went to Hastings, champions of the GPAC post-season last spring.  The Broncos are picked third in the balloting with 126 points. 

The GPAC softball season will once again consist of 24 games (12 doubleheaders) and conclude with the GPAC Postseason Tournament on May 6-8 at the Smith Softball Complex in Hastings, Nebraska. 

Points were assigned on a 12-1 basis and coaches' could not vote for their own team.
