The Doane women's track & field team knocked out three automatic NAIA qualifying marks and seven provisional marks on Saturday afternoon at the Scott Nisely Memorial Classic held in Crete. On the track, Deejay Silcott lit up the sprints with two first place finishes. She hit an automatic time in the 55m dash with a time of 7.25 seconds. In the 200m dash, she posted a winning time of 26.58 seconds.
Blair Dixon won the 400m dash with a time of 1:00.33, a provisional mark for the NAIA. Amanda Woodward won the 600m run with a time of 1:41.83. Viviana Arreola won the 3000m run in a time of 10:53.49.
In the 55m hurdles, Jillian Ourada hit a provisional mark with a time of 8.72 seconds as she finished fourth. The Doane 4x400m relay team placed second with a time of 4:08.41, a provisional NAIA time.
The field events were highlighted by the Tigers' performances in the high jump. Katie Bartels placed second with an automatic qualifying mark of 1.65m (5-05). She lost the tiebreaker because she passed on an earlier height and thus had one less made jump height. Michelle Ortmeier and Alyssa Rogge hit provisional marks with a height of 1.62m (5-03.75).
Janelle Weber fell just shy of an automatic qualifying mark in the triple jump, hitting a leap of 11.16m (36-07.50). It was her first meet of the year.
Whitney Collins posted a mark of 12.62m (41-05.00) in the shot put. She finished eighth with the provisional mark. In the weight throw, Collins hit an automatic mark with a throw of 15.98m (52-05.25) as she finished fourth.
