Doane Tripped Up at Bellevue

Doane took on Bellevue in men's basketball action on Wednesday evening and found themselves in a football score at halftime.  Unfortunately for the Tigers, they were on the wrong side of a 28-7 deficit.  Doane shot 10.7-percent from the floor, 3-of-28, but still battled on the defensive end.

In the second half, Doane shot 44-percent while attacking the basket stronger and getting to the free throw line.  Doane shot 12 free throws in the second half, zero in the first half.  Doane posted 40 points in the second stanza.  The Tigers were able to cut the lead down to 15 points midway through the second half but the Bruins used 19-5 run to pull away.

The Tigers were led by Bryan Meyer's 10 points.  Brett McFarland posted nine points and Jens Scholl added seven.  Scholl and Zach Moult led the team with five rebounds each.  Trent Schlautman had two of the Tigers' four steals on the evening.

Bellevue had four players finish in double-figures, led by Avery Tyler and Ron King.  Tyler and King scored 14 points apiece.  Ousseynou Diop and Jelani Johnson had nine rebounds each to lead the Bruins.
