The Tiger women's tennis team nearly pulled off their second straight win, falling to Hastings College, 5-4, on Thursday afternoon in Hastings. The loss eliminates the Tigers from make the postseason.
In singles action, Doane and Hastings split the six matches. Morgan Dietrich won 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-5) over Erica Herrera. Cassie Steiner won 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) over Ashley Potrzeba. Kirstin White dropped her match to Stephanie Larson, 4-6, 2-6.
Kendra Bender took No. 4 singles over April Carl, 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5). Jessica Whalen fell 4-6, 1-6 to Meghan Duryea. Andrea Johnson dropped her match to Jolu Albin, 4-6, 1-6.
In doubles action, Dietrich and Steiner won their match, 8-3, over Stacy Faussett and Potrzeba. White and Bender lost, 2-8, against Herrera and Koopman. Whalen and Johnson dropped their match, 1-8, to Armstrong and Carl.
