The Tiger women's basketball team saw their season come to an end on Thursday evening with an 80-68 loss at Northwestern College in the Quarterfinal Round of the GPAC Tournament. The loss was the third year in a row which the season ended on the Red Raiders' court.
Doane kept the game close in the first half, trailing by five points at the break. Northwestern shot 42-percent in the first half.
The second half went back and forth early on but the Red Raiders eventually built a 10 point lead. Doane was able to close the gap to three points with four minutes remaining using an 8-1 run. Hannah Helman hit a pair of three-point baskets and Kristine Ortmeier added a basket.
The Red Raiders closed the game with a 14-5 run, seven points coming from the free throw line.
Doane was led by Helman's 20 point effort. Ortmeier added 16 points and Lindsay Anderson chipped in 12 points. Amy Fox finished with eight points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Randa Hulstein finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead Northwestern. Becca Hurley added 18 points.
