Five Doane women's soccer players have been named to the 2008 GPAC Women's Soccer All-Conference teams and honorable mention list.
Samantha Exstrom (Lincoln) leads the way as she was named First Team All-GPAC for the second year in a row. Exstrom led the GPAC in goals this year with 21 in the regular season. She finished with 22 after picking up a goal in the Tiger's loss to Morningside in the First Round of the GPAC Tournament.
Kelsey Bryant (Lincoln) picked up honorable mention honors this year. She was the Tiger's top defensive player, anchoring the center-back position.
Kayleen Stanek (Bellevue) received honorable mention honors at her defensive position. She played the left-side of the Tiger defense.
Jordan Hedgecock (North Platte) was named honorable mention from the midfield position. She was the Tiger's center-midfielder and finished with two goals and two assists.
Sarah Medina (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named honorable mention from the forward position. She was second on the team in goals with four and led the way with seven assists.
GPAC RELEASE
The 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women's Soccer All-Conference team has been selected. The first team and second teams consist of 13 members each.
Kate DuMez from Dordt has been tabbed as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year, while Kelsie DeNooy from Dordt was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year. Dave Schenk from Dordt has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year.
