Doane rebounded from their first loss of the season to top Valley City State University, 3-1, in volleyball action at the Red Raider Classic in Orange City, Iowa, on Saturday afternoon. Game scores were 25-27, 25-20, 25-11, 25-16.
The Tigers were strong defensively in the match, collecting 86 digs and six blocks. Amy Janky (Sr.; Chapman, Neb.) posted a career-high 30 digs in the match. Terra Andreasen (Fr.; Bellevue, Neb.) collected 11 digs while Jessy Livers (Jr.; Lincoln, Neb.) and Ashley Sluka (Sr.; Milligan, Neb.) picked up 10 apiece.
Sluka led the way in set assists with 22. Heather Davison (So.; Lincoln, Neb.) added 14 assists while sharing the lead in ace serves with two. Megan Meduna (Fr.; Weston, Neb.) added two ace serves for the Tigers.
Andreasen posted a team-high 16 kills in the match. Chelsee Marvin (Sr.; Crete, Neb.) pounded out nine kills with a .350 attack percentage and led the team with five total blocks. Ivie Speer (Jr.; Central City, Neb.) also notched nine kills and posted an outstanding .412 attack percentage.
