Doane found troubles on defense on their recent northern swing, committing 15 errors over four games, as they dropped three of four games. Doane split with Sioux Falls, dropping game one, 7-5, before rallying to take game two, 7-5. Against Briar Cliff, Doane fell 4-0 and 5-2.
Sioux Falls Doubleheader
In game one, Doane committed five errors which led to six unearned runs for the Cougars. The Tigers also struggled to come up with the big hit as they stranded nine runners on base.
Joy Vasa took the loss, allowing one earned run over four innings. She also led the batters, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Stephanie Mosley scored two of Doane's five runs.
In game two, Jennifer Liddell picked up the win as she was able to work around four Tiger errors. She pitched a complete game, allowing six hits over seven innings.
Vasa had another strong game at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Liddell helped her cause, going 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and run scored.
Briar Cliff Doubleheader
The Tigers had their struggles at the plate, collecting only two hits in game one. Vasa took the loss on the mound as she allowed three earned runs in the loss as BCU picked up 10 hits in the game.
Briar Cliff struck early in game two, plating three runs in the first inning. Tiger starter Jennifer Liddell had to leave the game with a lower leg injury and also took the loss in the game.
Doane had six hits in game two, all from different players. Amber Remmers and Joy Vasa had the RBIs for the Tigers.
