Doane College senior Wade Janssen and junior Cole Christensen have been named 2008 NAIA Men's Basketball Scholar-Athletes. Janssen is a two-time honoree while Christensen is on the list for the first time. To be honored, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be of at least junior academic status.
Janssen, a Syracuse native, missed the majority of the season. His only game was senior night when he got into the game late and played about 10 seconds. He made a basket in his only shot attempt.
Christensen, a Raymond native, played a key role in the Tiger post area. He shot 53 percent from the floor and averaged around five minutes per game.
