Doane received solid pitching in game one against Dordt College on Friday to take the first game of the doubleheader 4-1. The Tigers dropped game two 7-4 after allowing six runs in the first inning. Both games were played in Crete but Dordt was the home team after the games were moved to Sioux Center, Iowa.
Bryan Dutcher threw a complete game, three-hitter for the Tigers in game one. The one run charged to Dutcher was unearned. He struck out three Defender batters.
At the plate, Mike Mendenhall and Thomas Frinkman collected two hits each. Frinkman, Chris Williams and Calan Reichstein picked up RBIs for Doane.
In game two, Dexter Spitsnogle was charged with six runs in one-third of an inning. Marshall Carr finished out the game, throwing 5.2 innings. He allowed one run on six hits.
At the plate, Chris Williams and Thomas Frinkman went 2-for-4. Luke Henderson collected two RBIs for Doane.

Doane will host Northwestern College on March 29. The game was scheduled for Orange City, Iowa, but was moved due to weather conditions. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
