The Tigers did not get off to the start they were hoping to on their Spring Break trip as they dropped a 3-2 decision to Robert Morris College. Two errors in the seventh inning led to RMC's three runs. Doane was paced at the plate by Amber Remmers. She went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Stephanie Mosley and Amy Hamik scored the Tiger runs. Kayla Hochstein added the other RBI with a squeeze bunt.
Jennifer Liddell took the loss, pitching 6.2 innings and scattering two hits.
In what would be deemed an exhibition game, Doane defeated the Division III Junior College National Champions Monroe CC, 8-3.
The Tigers will hope the momentum from that game will carry over for the rest of the trip.
