The Tigers suffered a 4-3 set back to Dakota State University on Monday in Arizona before rebounding with a 15-8 victory over Dana College in non-conference play.
Dakota State built a 4-1 lead through five innings before Doane added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Both teams finished with five hits but Doane committed three errors in the game.
Calan Reichstein notched two hits to lead Doane. Tim Engelhaupt, Dean Henson and Jason West collected RBIs for the Tigers.
Later in the day, the Tigers scored nine runs in the first six innings to lead by six but Dana came back to pull within two at 9-7. The Doane bats woke up once again and plated six runs in the bottom of the eight to pull away for the win.
Seven of the Tiger's starting nine batters collected two hits each. Cody Shoultz knocked in three runs while Eric Stuart scored three for the Tigers.
Dexter Spitsnogle picked up the win, pitching 5.2 innings while allowing three runs on seven hits. Bryan Dutcher collected the save, pitching the final 1.1 innings.
