Doane plated 10 runs in the second inning as they cruised to a 13-0 victory in game one of a doubleheader with Midland Lutheran College. Game two was a dog fight as Doane rallied for a 17-15 victory. Both games were non-conference games.
In game one, six Tiger hitters collected two hits each in the 15-hit attack. Calan Reichstein and Dean Henson had the big hits as Reichstein drove in three runs and Henson hit a grand slam to score four of the Tigers' runs.
Jacob Bartek picked up the win, throwing five innings and scattering three hits while striking out five Warrior batters.
In game two, Mike Mendenhall and Evan Bumgarner collected three hits each. Mendenhall scored four runs and drove in five. Austin Parker joined Bumgarner with three runs scored in the game.
Bumgarner picked up the victory, pitching in relief. He did not allow a hit in two innings of work.
