Tigers Fall in GPAC First Round

Article Body

Doane jumped out to a 14 point lead at halftime but a 22-2 run in the second half by Dana doomed the Tiger's season as they fell 73-66.  Playing short-handed due to illnesses, Doane gave a valiant effort but it was not enough to hold off the Vikings who shot 63 percent in the second half.  Doane was without three players, including starter Ben Streck, as well as a sick Kolby Hamilton who was unable to start.

Hamilton came off the bench to score 15 points for the Tigers in 19 minutes of play.  He was joined in double figures by Dane Cruz who posted 14 points and Jack Lind's 10 points.

The Tigers were plagued by 16 turnovers which led to 18 Dana points.  Dana also controlled the boards, grabbing 35 rebounds to Doane's 25.  Dana had 12 second chance points while Doane was held to five.

Dana was led by Eric Maassen's 20 points.  Four Vikings scored in double figures.

Doane ends the season at 12-16 overall while finishing 8-10 in the GPAC, tied for seventh.
