Doane/Midland Lutheran Box Score
Doane rebounded from a pair of losses with a hard fought victory over Midland Lutheran College, 83-71. The started the game with eight straight points before the Warriors answered with nine of their own. The two teams went back and forth most of the first half with Midland Lutheran holding a two point lead at halftime, 37-35.
The Tiger's second half started with a three-point basket from Brett McFarland. It was their first lead since the 2:15 mark in the first half and it would be a lead they would not let go of. Kolby Hamilton and Dane Cruz added baskets to give Doane a five point lead. Midway through the second half, the Tigers used a 10-0 run to build a 17 point lead. Eight of the 10 points came from Hamilton. The Warriors would close the gap back to seven points before the Tigers extended it back into double digits.
Dane Cruz posted a team-high 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor. He was 5-of-6 from behind the arc and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. Kolby Hamilton finished the evening with a double-double, scoring 22 points and pulling in 12 rebounds. Trent Schlautman and Ben Streck posted four assist each. Streck also notched four steals.
Luke Simons led Midland Lutheran with a game-high 32 points. He was 14-of-16 from the floor and added a game-high five assists. Chad Langemeier had a game-high 13 rebounds.
