No. 1 Morningside used hot shooting to pull away with an 88-68 victory over Doane in Sioux City. The Mustangs shot 53 percent from the floor and 52 percent from three-point range (12-of-23). Morningside scored the first 10 points of the game and used a 13-0 run in the second half to pull away. Doane was limited to 37 percent shooting from the floor.
Dane Cruz came away with a team-high 16 points behind 8-of-8 shooting from the free throw line. Trent Schlautman added 11 points and Scott Neuhalfen posted 10. Ben Streck had a game-high five assists and team-best six rebounds.
Morningside was led by Jack Rother's 22 points while Thomas Pargett added 18 points and four assists. David Price notched a game-high 11 rebounds.
