Doane/Spring Arbor statistics 

For the second straight day the Tigers found themselves in a big deficit early in their game at the St. Xavier Tournament, trailing 23-8 to Spring Arbor on Friday.  Much like the game against St. Francis on Thursday, Doane battled back and tied the game at 36-36 going into halftime.

The Tigers struggled from the floor, only shooting 39 percent but were able to collect 14 steals that lead to 24 points off of Spring Arbor turnovers.  Lindsay Anderson led all players with five steals to go with her game-high 21 points.  She also added eight rebounds and three assists.  Hannah Helman picked up three steals that helped her to 15 points.

The Tigers held a 43-38 rebound edge which included five offensive rebounds more than the Cougars.  Alissa Holland had a game-high 13 rebounds to go with her nine points.

Spring Arbor was led by Kara Buehrer's 18 points.  Kristen Miller added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Cougars.  SAU committed 18 turnovers compared to 15 by Doane.

Up Next
Doane will take on host St. Xavier University at 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 29.  The Cougars advanced with a win over Huntington.  The game will match the champions of the past five tournaments (Doane winning in 2003 & 2005) and can be heard on the Tiger Sports Network.
