Tiger Post Play Steps Up in Victory

The Tigers got off to a slow start on Wednesday evening but rallied to top Midland Lutheran College, 79-66. Doane shot 51.6 percent from the floor, including a hot 64.5 percent in the second half.  The Tiger post players scored 46 of the 79 points and added 10 assists.

Doane, trailing by seven with three minutes remaining in the first half, tied the game with an 8-1 run to close out the half.  The Tigers forced three consecutive turnovers in the final 90 seconds to close a five point deficit before halftime.

The Tiger second half was sparked by 10 points from Vanessa Munter and Nicole Anderson.  Munter and Alissa Holland finished with 16 points each to lead the team.  Anderson finished with 15, going 3-for-3 from behind the three-point arc.  Desirae Albus added 12 points and a game-high three offensive rebounds. 

Amy Fox posted six assists while Brittany Lurz added five.  Doane had 25 assists on 32 made field goals.

Midland Lutheran was led by Karmen Jericevic's 20 points.  Allie Rippe added 14 points and seven rebounds.
