Head Coach Jeremy Jorgensen took over the Tiger program in June 2007. Jorgensen came to Doane from McCook Community College where he was the Head Baseball Coach and a career specialist. He also works in the Doane Office of Admission.
Jorgensen graduated from College of St. Scholastica, Minnesota, in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in dietetics with a minor in psychology. He holds a master's degree from California State University - Fullerton in kinesiology.
Jorgensen received his first head coach position in 1997 at Benilde-St. Margaret's High School in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. In 1999, he became an assistant at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he was the recruiting coordinator and pitching coach. In August 2001, Jorgensen became pitching coach at California State University and in October 2003, he took over the McCook Community College baseball program. During his time at McCook Community College, they set school records in regular season wins and conference wins. Prior to 2003, the team had never won more than 11 games in a season; in his final year, they finished with 24.
Assistant Coach Jeremy Fries joined the Tiger staff in 2003 after pitching for the Tigers in 2002. He serves as the pitching coach for the Tigers and also helps with recruiting. Fries began his playing career in the junior college ranks before transferring to Doane. Since 2002, he has spent his summers coaching legion baseball and has led his teams to a state junior championship in 2002 and a state senior runner-up in 2004. Fries is a teacher at Crete High School.
Assistant Coach Brock Anderson joined the Tiger staff in Fall 2006. He serves as the hitting & infield coach and also assists with recruiting. Anderson, a native of Seward, Nebraska, was a starter on the baseball team at Midland Lutheran College before transferring to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Anderson spent the past four years coaching high school and American Legion baseball. In 2005, his American Legion team won the Class C Seniors State Tournament. Anderson is a physical education teacher at Belmont Elementary in the Lincoln Public School District.
Assistant Coach Josh Oltmans joined the Tigers in the summer of 2007 as recruiting coordinator after graduating from Dakota Wesleyan University. While at Dakota Wesleyan, Oltmans was an NAIA Scholar-Athlete his senior year and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and a minor in communications. Before playing at Dakota Wesleyan, Oltmans played for Coach Jorgensen at McCook Community College. He served as a co-captain at MCC and was an Academic All-American. During his college career Oltmans was a pitcher and an outfielder. He also played in the Boise Collegiate Summer League in Idaho. Coach Oltmans has coached legion baseball in Los Lunas, New Mexico and his home town of Nelson, Nebraska. Josh works in the Doane admission office as well.
