Simon Field was constructed on the northwest end of the campus in 1929 following a generous gift from G. Eli Simon, a Cambridge, Nebraska attorney and father of a graduating senior. Simon Field is home to the football and soccer teams. Lauritsen Track surrounds the field and is home to the outdoor track & field team.
Field turf was installed in 2000. As part of the renovation, a new outdoor, polyurethane track was also installed. Both the track and field are used by the Crete community and Crete High School. The press box was wired in the summer of 2004 to allow Tiger Athletics to broadcast live statistics via the web.
