Make a Difference Day
As part of national Make A Difference Day, Doane students volunteered at Foodnet in Crete Oct. 27. Make A Difference Day is the largest national day of helping others. The Doane students helped bundle food products for customers. Foodnet is an all-volunteer organization that feeds more than 1,000 families each week through 28 distribution sites in the Lincoln area. The Doane students participating are part of the college's women's mentoring program, a two-year-old Multicultural Support Services program whose goal is to help students of color and others make the transition from high school to college, cope with diversity issues and adjust to academic challenges.
