Eighth Annual Doane triMATHlon
Lincoln East and Brownell-Talbot were the overall team champions in the eighth annual Doane triMATHlon Math Contest Sept. 27 at the Crete campus. Participating high schools in the Division I competition were: Bellevue East, Bellevue West, Norris, Lincoln East, Lincoln Northeast, Lincoln Southeast, Omaha Central, and Pius X. Division II included Harvard, Crete, Deshler, Falls City Public, Weeping Water, Bertrand, Thayer Central and Brownell-Talbot schools. The math contest consisted of three stages. The Extreme Team Challenge event included questions about a parabolic rope hanging across a lake and a giant 3-D grid system. The Individual Written Test was a 30-question, multiple-choice exam. The Math Bowl paired three-person teams in a quiz bowl tournament.
