Doane College Alumni Awards
The Young Alumnus Award honors Doane graduates who are 35 years of age or younger for demonstration of and lasting commitment to the highest ideals and models of excellence exemplified by Doane College. (generally given each year)
The Paul Kersenbrock Humanitarian Award is given in memory of Paul Dean Kersenbrock ‘63, and will be presented to a worthy Doane alumnus, who in the judgment of the Alumni Council distinguishes himself or herself by extraordinary, unselfish dedication and service to others in his/her work and lifestyle. (generally given each year)
The Exceptional Service Award recognizes an alumnus or alumni who has or have provided extraordinary service to forward the cause of Doane College through his or her volunteer efforts. (generally given each year)
Criteria for Doane College Alumni Trustee
To serve as an Alumni Trustee, a person should show involvement in the alumni programs, show consistent support of the college, have the means to give to the college and have some expertise the Board can use.
Additional Awards Given By The College

The Alumni Educator of the Year Award is presented to alumni who have made outstanding contributions in the field of education. Recipient is selected by the education department. (generally given each year)
The Platt Alumni Music Award is presented to alumni for outstanding achievement in music. Recipient is selected by the music department, and it is not necessarily given each year.
The Doane Builder Award is presented to alumni (preferably graduates) who have distinguished themselves and Doane through outstanding achievement, professional accomplishments, community service and their relationship with the college. This is considered the highest award an alumnus of the college can receive. (generally given each year)
The President's Award for Leadership is presented to alumni and friends of the college who have shown extraordinary service and leadership in their communities. (as needed)
The Trustees Award for Distinguished Service is occasionally presented to alumni and friends who have distinguished themselves by their service to the college. (as needed)
The President's Award for Work in Navajo Language and Culture was presented to alumni for their exceptional work furthering the language and culture of Navajo students and their families. (as needed)
Navajo Leadership Award is presented to alumni who have demonstrated lasting leadership to the communities on the Navajo Nation. (as needed)
Faculty Award for Distinctive Scholarship is presented to alumni for creative contributions, accomplishments and leadership in scholarly pursuits and endeavors. (as needed)
Excellence in Teaching Award is presented to friends of the college who have made outstanding contributions to the field of education. (as needed)
Alumni Senior Award is presented to members of the graduating class from each campus in recognition of consistent demonstration of superior performance in academic and co curricular activities during their undergraduate careers. (given every year)
Honor D Award is presented to former Doane athletes who have distinguished themselves by outstanding service in their life's work. Must have lettered in a sport at Doane. (given every year)
Doane College Athletic Hall of Fame, established in 1996, honors athletes, teams and coaches for their achievements at Doane College. This is currently the only award that allows induction posthumously. (given every year)

Alumni Master is a Doane alumnus who has mastered his/her chosen field and returns to campus to share his/her expertise with students. (recognized every year)
