Doane currently has three chapters which serve alumni in the following areas:
Rocky Mountain Chapter for the greater Denver area
Capital Alumni Chapter for the greater Lincoln area
Japan Alumni Chapter for alumni in Japan
These organizations were formed to fulfill a dual role of serving alumni and the college. The chapters function in the following ways:
- Renew and encourage Doane fellowship
- Serve as a meeting place for friends of Doane
- Extend Doane physically, intellectually and socially beyond the boundaries of the campuses
- Assist alumni who have recently moved to the area by helping them become acquainted with the area and encourage participation in the chapter activities
- Promote activities that are beneficial to Doane College such as student recruitment, annual contributions to The Doane Fund, and career placement
- The chapters raise funds to provide gift certificates for textbooks or scholarships to entering students attending Doane College from the chapter area
