The Thomas Doane Scholarship is awarded to incoming first year students who are recognized as Finalists for the National Merit
® Scholarship Program. To compete, students are required to take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT
®) no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. Of the original 1.3 million that enter the program, only approximately 15,000 of the highest scores receive Finalist standing.
The award for the Thomas Doane Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship. It is renewable over four years and will increase with the cost of tuition. Students receiving the scholarship are required to maintain a full-time status and a 3.5 GPA through their tenure at Doane.
