EXPLORING CHINA (COUNTRY IN TRANSITION)

In this new century, it is clear that China will be one of the big stories in the news. Yet most of us know very little about this extraordinary country, and the way in which it will affect our world in years to come. This course was a chance for students to experience China's society and culture. The goal was to see China in transition, where the old ways, though disappearing, still exist, being replaced by an emerging modern significant force. Students traveled to China, visiting Shanghai, Beijing, and other key cities, and exploring by bus, train, air, and ship on adventures through time to experience a 5,000-year-old culture.
