Credit Requirements

Thirty-six credit hours are required for the Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Five courses are required; the remaining courses are electives, which are selected by the graduate student in consultation with the academic adviser to best meet the professional goals of the graduate student. Students are allowed to register for a maximum of six credit hours each term in the fall and spring, and 12 credit hours during the summer term. The required courses are:

  • EDU600 - Improvement of Instruction - 3 hours
  • EDU601 Critical Issues in Curriculum and Instruction - 3 hours
  • EDU602 - Assessment of Learning - 3 hours
    OR
  • EDU645 - Assessment of Literacy - 3 hours
  • EDU603 - Research Methods - 3 hours
  • EDU604 - Culminating Project - 3 hours
    OR
  • EDU605 - Thesis - 6 hours
