Forensics Scholarship Audition Process:
- Contact the Office of Admission and schedule a date and time to audition.
- Carefully prepare for your audition ahead of time. You will need to perform a 5-10-minute individual forensics piece in the event of your choice. Practice thoroughly and plan to look and sound your best.
- Remember, this audition serves two purposes. It is an opportunity for you to make an impression on us, both as an individual and as a speaker, and it is also an opportunity for us to make an impression on you.
THE BIG QUESTION: How much scholarship money can you receive for forensics?
This question is not easily answered, because awarding scholarships is highly variable. The forensics team gives its highest awards to students who have outstanding speaking ability, but a second level award goes to students who compete in a particular event or have a particular talent of which the team is in need. We try to help as many students as possible within the limits of our scholarship budget.
When considering applying for a forensics scholarship, keep this in mind. Many of us, by nature, tend to underrate our ability. If you are one of those people, you should definitely try out. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that the forensics team feels you have a natural talent worthy of receiving scholarship money.
