IST ROBOlympics

In the IST ROBOlympics, you can build and program Lego® MindStorms® robots to participate in various competitive events. There are several ways to experience the thrill of victory (and perhaps the agony of defeat) of ROBOlympics.

For High School Students

The IST department hosts annual ROBOlympics trial events for high school students. The trial events are used to prototype events that will be used in the annual ROBOlympics course. In these trial events, teams of three or four students design, build, and program robots within a single, four-hour period. Doane students and faculty are on hand to help.

The next ROBOlympics trial event will be held in November 2009. As the event draws near, more information will be available here.

If you are interested in bringing a team from your high school, please contact Mark Meysenburg via e-mail or at 402.826.8267.

The IST department teaches a ROBOlympics course every year during Doane's Interterm. In this three-week course, teams of Doane students spend three hours a day to design, build, and program robots for a variety of competitions.
