Courses in the life sciences at Doane incorporate both classroom studies and intensive laboratory or field experiences. Recent additions to the curriculum include laboratory courses in immunology and electron microscopy. All students participate in cooperative research programs under the guidance of faculty members.
Many of Doane's graduates pursue advanced degrees in such areas as ecology, genetics, exercise physiology, plant sciences, molecular biology and agronomy. Others continue on to professional schools in medicine, optometry, and nursing, to name a few.
