Doane College

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are first-year students housed?
Doane is a residential college and believes that learning to live with others and participating in the self-governance of a residence hall community are essential elements of the college experience. All first-year students live in either Sheldon Hall, Smith Hall or Frees Hall. Doane's residence halls provide a variety of accommodations, including apartment-style living as well as more traditional residences. The halls are staffed with professionals and upperclass students who have received training in counseling, crisis intervention, and programming. The staff is available to help students with problems and to provide leadership in community development. Take a virtual tour of the campus.

Roommates for first-year students are chosen by reviewing the personality traits for each student.
