Where are first-year students housed?
Doane is a residential college and believes that learning to live with others and participating in the self-governance of a residence hall community are essential elements of the college experience. All first-year students live in either Sheldon Hall, Smith Hall or Frees Hall. Doane's residence halls provide a variety of accommodations, including apartment-style living as well as more traditional residences. The halls are staffed with professionals and upper-class students who have received training in counseling, crisis intervention, and programming. The staff is available to help students with problems and to provide leadership in community development. Take a virtual tour of the campus.

Roommates for first-year students are chosen by reviewing the personality traits for each student.
