Grants:As a general rule, federal grants do not need to be repaid and are based on
financial need determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA).
What is a Federal Pell Grant?Pell Grants are awarded to students with exceptional need. Generally, Pell
grants are for undergraduate students that have not already earned a bachelor’s
or professional degree. The amount a student is eligible for is determined by
the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) which is generated from the FAFSA.
Students do not have to be enrolled full-time, but amount the student receives in
Pell Grant money is pro-rated by their enrollment status.
