Costs

Usually, there are two types of cost associated with attending a college or university: Direct Costs and Indirect Costs.

Direct Costs

These traditionally include tuition, fees, room and board. 

Direct Costs for the 2011-2012 Academic Year include:

Tuition:     $22,970.00

• Tuition costs covers between 12-17 semester hours of world-class instruction. 

Fees:     $620.00

• Your fees help cover student activities, the travel abroad scholarship fund, technology usage, and access to Health & Wellness services.

Room & Board:     $6,650.00

• This is for basic room and board; other options may be available depending on your housing assignment and meal plan selection.

Total Direct Costs:     $30,240.00

Indirect Costs

When reviewing the cost of any college, you should always consider any annual indirect costs incurred, such as:

Books:    $900.00

• Costs are dependent upon what is required for each course.

Transportation:   $1,250.00

• Includes the cost of gas and/or additional travel expenses (airfare, trains, hotels, etc.).

Personal costs:   $1,500.00

• Dependent upon individual needs and lifestyle. 

Parking fees:   Doane does not require additional fees for parking on campus.

Total Indirect Costs:   $3,650.00
