SEVIS
SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) is an Internet-based system that allows schools, the department of homeland security and government agencies access to data for international students while they are in the United States. SEVIS is a federal mandate - all schools with international students will be required to use the system by January 30, 2003. SEVIS collects data on student enrollment, name and address changes, completion dates, dismissals and other immigration information.

The Doane College SEVIS compliance officer must collect additional information about international students as required by the Department of Homeland Security under this system. This includes information on current physical address, date of visa issuance, port of entry, date of entry and information of all dependents on the F-2 visas.
