Doane's special education major leads to preparation for teaching children and youth with mild or moderate mental handicaps, learning disabilities or behavioral disorders. Teachers graduating from this program have certification for teaching kindergarten through 12th grade. Students may obtain certification in both elementary education and special education.
Accreditation
The Doane College Teacher Education Program is accredited by the North Central Association, the State of Nebraska and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
