Rhonda has directed more than 70 theatre productions all over the country. Rhonda began her career at age 8, acting at the Chanticleer Theatre in Iowa.  She earned her B.F.A. in theatre arts, teaching certificate and coaching endorsement from Simpson College, and upon graduation moved to New York City and worked steadily there as a AEA/SAG/AFTRA actor for television, theatre, film, soaps and commercials.

After a successful 12 years in New York, she and her director husband, Robin McKercher, moved to Lincoln, NE, to raise their sons. In Lincoln, she worked as the family theatre director and managing director at the Lincoln Community Playhouse. After nine years at the Playhouse, the Lake-McKercher family moved back east to Lancaster, PA, for 3 1/2 years, working in many capacities in casting and production at the historic Fulton Theatre, a LORT C Equity theatre.

Currently Rhonda is working on her Masters in Arts Management, teaching for Doane College, a casting director for productions in NYC, directing a bilingual children's theatre, organizing internships and during the summers teaches at Belvoir Terrace in Lenox, MA, a fine arts camp for girls.  Rhonda is a proud mother of two sons, Ian (19) and Alexander (13).
