Career CounselingAs well as having a comprehensive Career Development Center at Doane, the sociology faculty take an active role in working with their students on pursuing and preparing for the careers of their choice. This is accomplished by one-on-one faculty advising and a supportive atmosphere for optimal learning.
Careers
Doane graduates work in such diverse fields as social research, human services, criminal justice, gerontology, demography, and teaching.
Graduate Studies
A number of students attend graduate school and law school, in such locations as: University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Baylor University, University of Missouri, University of Illinois, and Syracuse University.
Internships/OpportunitiesDoane students may participate in month-long or semester-long internships, gaining hands-on work experience for college credit. Sociology majors have had internships at such organizations as:
