The Doane College Environmental Science class has placed a geocache somewhere on campus.
- Go to www.geocaching.com
- log in or create an account, and enter the Doane zip code (68333) to obtain the longitude and latitude of the geocache.
- Find the geocache and make an entry in our logbook.
A typical cache is a waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure," usually trinkets of little value. Participants make an entry into the log book. If they take the trinket, they leave one of equal value.
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played by those equipped with GPS units. The goal is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is an enjoyable hobby and supports the environment by encouraging people to spend time outdoors.
