English Language Arts

Doane College's English/Language Arts major is intended to prepare you for teaching in schools where multiple skills are needed in the areas of English, speech, and theatre.

No second major is needed for certification in this area, but an interest in all three areas of language arts is necessary.

The Doane College Education Program offered in Nebraska is known nationwide for its innovative, performance-based approach to teacher education based on a quality model of theory and developmental experiences.

Accreditation

The Doane College Teacher Education Program is accredited by the North Central Association, the State of Nebraska and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Doane College and the Teacher Education Division are members of the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE), Council of Independent Colleges (CIC), Nebraska Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (NACTE); Nebraska Council for Teacher Education (NCTE); Association of Independent Liberal Arts Colleges of Teacher Education (AILACTE); and the Nebraska Network for Educational Renewal (NeNER).
