Abundant unspoiled nature allows for study beyond the classroom for a biology major in Nebraska. Biology degree programs at Doane incorporate both classroom studies and intensive laboratory or field experiences. Recent additions to the curriculum include laboratory courses in immunology and electron microscopy. All students participate in cooperative research programs under the guidance of faculty members.
Many of our graduates with a bachelor's degree in biology go on to pursue advanced biology degree programs in fields like ecology, genetics, exercise physiology, plant sciences, molecular biology and agronomy. Others continue on to professional schools in medicine, optometry, and nursing, to name a few.
