Information Systems Major
The IST information systems major is designed for individuals interested in pursuing careers related to the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of computer information systems and technology in organizations. If you are interested in computers and business, you are a good candidate for this major!
After graduation, information systems students usually enter the industry in network administration, hardware support, web development, or database administration. Other students have entered graduate school.
Here are the requirements for the information systems major:
Complete the following 35 IST credits:
- IST 140, 145, 146, 217, 252, three credits of IST 421, and two semesters of IST 495.
- Nine additional credits chosen from IST 307, 312, 322, 407, 412, and 422.
- Six additional IST credits at or above IST 246, excluding IST 326, 401, 421, and 495.
Complete the following cognates:
- ACC 103
- BUS 242, 315
- ECO 203 or 204
- One credit of ATV 137
