IST ROBOlympics

IST ROBOlympics

In the IST ROBOlympics, you can build and program Lego® MindStorms® robots to participate in various competitive events. There are several ways to experience the thrill of victory (and perhaps the agony of defeat) of ROBOlympics.

For High School Students

The IST department hosts annual ROBOlympics trial events for high school students. The trial events are used to prototype events that will be used in the annual ROBOlympics course. In these trial events, teams of three or four students design, build, and program robots within a single, four-hour period. Doane students and faculty are on hand to help.

The next ROBOlympics trial event will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 in the Lied Science building on the Doane campus in Crete, Nebraska. The event will take place from 3:00 to 7:00. This year, we will use our new NXT kits, so if you've been here before, be prepared for something different!

If you are interested in bringing a team from your high school, please contact Mark Meysenburg via e-mail or at 402.826.8267.
