How do I pre-register?
There are four ways to pre-register for courses.
1. WEBADVISOR - Option available February 20th. You are encouraged to pre-register
on-line using WebAdvisor at www.doane.edu/wa. Upon selecting your courses, please make sure you select Grand Island as the campus and also submit your regis- ter for the courses. Double check under My class schedule in WebAdvisor for accura- cy. If you encounter any problems with online pre-registration, please call your advisor or send an e-mail to lisa.avila@doane.edu. Students who are new to Doane for the Spring Term CAN NOT select this option.
2. EMAIL- You may email your pre-registration to lisa.avila@doane.edu. Please include the course number, title and day to ensure pre-registration in the correct course. Also include if you would like to reserve books.
3. PHONE- You may phone in your pre-registration by calling 398-0800 or 877-443-6263.
4. ON CAMPUS-You may stop by the Grand Island campus located in College Park at 3180 W US Hwy 34. Office hours are Mon-Thurs 10-6 & Fri 9-5.
NEED HELP?-Your advisor is happy to meet with you to select courses. Call 308-398-0800 or toll free 877-443-6263 to set up an appointment.
What is formal registration?
The difference between pre-registration and formal registration is the commitment of money. You are not required to pay for your class or sign a promise to pay note until formal registration. You must come to the Doane-Grand Island campus to formally register for all courses on one of these days. Dates and times for formal registration are:
Thursday, March 15th 10:00am-6:00pm
Friday, March 16th 9:00am-5:00pm
Saturday, March 17th 9:00am-12:00pm
Where do I get my books?
You may purchase textbooks at the Doane-Grand Island campus during formal registra- tion. If you would like to reserve textbooks please contact the office. PLEASE NOTE: If ordering textbooks on your own, please consider that you are responsible to have the correct textbook on the first night of class. Can I add or drop courses?
Yes. CENSUS DAY-THE LAST DAY TO DROP OR ADD courses for the Spring Term is March 26th BEFORE 5p.m. Except for emergency situations, if you drop your enrollment in any course, including seminars, online courses and courses on an alternative schedule after census day, you will forfeit tuition. This policy applies to any class regardless of the start day of the class. You must contact your advisor to drop a class after formal registration.
How can I get financial aid?
If you have questions about Financial Aid, ask Lisa or Jennifer. There is a one-page document that can help you through the entire process. The most important step is to be sure you are fully admitted during your first term at Doane. To be fully admitted, a student must complete an application, pay a $20 UG/$30 GR application fee, and as- sure that the Grand Island campus has received official high school and all college tran- scripts. Graduate students must also include recommendation letters and an essay.
Doane College continues its historic policy of nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or marital status.
